Hello families,

Welcome to The Preschool at Congregation B’nai Israel! I am so excited to meet you!

Children begin to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born, and preschool is the beginning of a child’s formal education. As an educator and parent of (now adult) twin daughters, I know that entrusting your child’s education to the right preschool is a big decision. That is why I want to share my mission and vision for The Preschool at Congregation B’nai Israel.

First and foremost, I believe that children need to feel safe and know they are loved. At The Preschool, their joy is shared, and their accomplishments are praised. I want to teach them that it is okay to make mistakes and that each mistake should be celebrated as an opportunity to learn. I want them to learn how to recognize their emotions and to channel them appropriately. I want them to act silly and to laugh. Life can be stressful – preschool should not be.

Children need to learn universal values such as kindness to humans and animals, friendship, empathy, respect for the environment and the rights of others, the significance of community and family, and the need for flexibility. I want our children to know that they can make a difference in the world and be inspired to make good deeds a part of their daily lives. We rejoice in each child’s uniqueness.

I love watching children discover the joy of learning and it is my aim to help our young friends develop their natural curiosity. I believe that children need to be exposed to age-appropriate curriculum that will allow them to be creative, thrive and be successful. We will engage them in activities that will develop their fine motor, cognitive, language and behavioral skills. They will learn patience and build self-confidence. They will learn to be both independent thinkers and to work collaboratively with others. We have a robust STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Music) curriculum. From toddler through pre-K, all our children will explore in an engaging and age-appropriate hands-on manner. By the time they leave The Preschool they will be well-prepared for kindergarten and on their way to a life-long love of learning.

Our children will change the world. I would love to play a part in their journey.

With warmest regards,

Mindy
