We are thrilled to announce that Aliza Maslansky has joined our team as the new Preschool Director at Congregation B’nai Israel. She will officially assume her role in August 2025.  Aliza brings seven years of experience as the Director and Lead Teacher of the Lauren Elise Bier Nursery School at Congregation AABJ&D in West Orange, NJ, where she achieved notable success in expanding school hours, introducing new classes for infants and toddlers, and increasing overall enrollment.

Aliza’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Hartford and a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Touro College. Prior to her role at Congregation AABJ&D, she taught in Jewish preschools in Connecticut and New York.
In addition to her educational experience, Aliza has also served as the chair of the Early Childhood Directors Advisory Committee, part of the Jewish Educational Initiatives of the Jewish Federation of Greater Metro West. In this capacity, she has planned and organized professional development conferences for synagogue preschool directors and teachers, allowing her to build relationships with many local preschool directors and educators.
Aliza is passionate about instilling Jewish values and universal principles in young learners through play-based learning, drawing inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach. Her experience as a teacher and parent enables her to understand the needs of both educators and families and connect with them on a personal level. Aliza believes that synagogue preschools are special and is deeply committed to educating our youngest learners, regardless of background.

Aliza can be reached at amaslansky@cbi-nj.org. We look forward to welcoming her to our community!
